Kuwait plans $1.8b infrastructure spend

Kuwait is planning to spend roughly $1.8 billion on five strategic infrastructure projects in 2021–2022, according to ME Construction News.

A report issued by the Ministry of Finance disclosed that the Ministry of Public Works (MPW) and the Public Authority for Roads and Land Transport (PART) have acquired the biggest share of the budget, for projects such as the $1.19 billion Kuwait International Airport Terminal T2 expansion project.

An additional $246 million has been slated for a new maternity hospital project, and $166.2 million has been allocated for the expansion project of the Umm Al Haiman power station. The report also revealed that $99.7 million each will be spent on the Abdali Expressway development project, as well as the construction of roads, bridges, rain and sanitation works, and other services.
