Kuwait’s pension fund, known as Public Institution for Social Security (PIFSS), is planning to scale up its infrastructure investments significantly over the next few years, sources with knowledge of the matter told Bloomberg.
Meshal Al-Othman, director general of PIFSS, said the pension fund is looking to increase its investments in the asset class from 3 percent to 10 percent.
“In infrastructure, we’re looking to build up aggressively,” Al-Othman said in an interview with Bloomberg TV. He noted the pension fund also will slightly increase its investments in hedge funds and real estate.
