Knight Frank appoints head of international capital USA

by Released

Knight Frank has appointed Edward Owen as head of international capital USA.

In his new role, Owen will be responsible for working alongside Berkadia partners to identify, pursue and execute large-scale capital markets transactions in the United States, sourcing offshore capital via Knight Frank’s extensive global network.

Owen is a commercial real estate professional with 17 years of international experience across commercial real estate sectors. He will be based in the Washington, D.C., office of Berkadia — a leader in commercial real estate and one of Knight Frank’s U.S.-based partners. Knight Frank and Berkadia announced their strategic alliance in January 2023 to provide capital markets services to multi-market clients globally.

Most recently, Owen spent 18 months at U.K.-based property consultancy Mason Owen. Prior to that, he was at WeWork between 2017 and 2021 as head of new markets, real estate in EMEA. Before WeWork, Owen spent almost 10 years living in Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Chengdu and Miami while at developer Swire Properties.

He will establish an International Capital desk that will be tasked with managing inbound capital into the Berkadia network, as well as engaging with outbound U.S. investors seeking to deploy capital into the United Kingdom, Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.
