KKR has lobbed a £1.75 billion ($2.15 billion) all-cash takeover offer for ContourGlobal, an international owner and operator of contracted wholesale power generation businesses.
KKR will pay 263.6 pence for each share of ContourGlobal, representing a 36 percent premium to the company's closing price on May 16, according to the firm intention announcement. The offer gives ContourGlobal an enterprise value of $6.14 billion, based on the announcement exchange rate.
ContourGlobal has 6.3 gigawatts in operation in 20 countries. The company operates a portfolio of 138 thermal and renewable-power plants across Europe, North America, Latin America and Africa, utilizing a wide range of fuel types, technologies and equipment.
