Kildare Partners raises $1.1b for European fund

by Andrea Waitrovich

Kildare Partners has raised $1.14 billion in equity commitments for its Kildare European Partners II, according to an SEC filing. The opportunistic fund launched during fourth quarter 2015 with a $2.4 billion equity fundraising target.

While the fund’s predecessor, Kildare European Partners I, focused primarily on U.K. assets, Fund II will branch out to Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal and Italy, as well as continuing to invest in the United Kingdom. The fund will invest in distressed real estate debt and is expecting to hold a first close of approximately $1.5 billion in mid-May.

Kildare European Partners I held a final close of $2 billion in 2014.
