KGAL brings 47MW solar park in southern Spain online

KGAL’s renewable-energy fund, KGAL ESPF 4, has connected the 47-megawatts-peak San Fernando solar park to the power grid in the province of Cádiz in southern Spain.

With more than 3,000 hours of sunshine per year, the region has the highest level of solar radiation in Spain.

San Fernando is a pure greenfield project that KGAL and its partner Premier Group have been driving forward from the outset of the project. KGAL, the Premier Group and its service provider ELMYA implemented the project development step by step, from securing the land to the feasibility study, environmental permits, building applications and construction through to completion.

The solar park is now feeding electricity into the Spanish grid at attractive market prices, KGAL confirmed. The calculated output is enough to supply around 35,000 people with green electricity.
