KGAL Investment Management has made two senior appointments as part of a strategy to tap into the energy transition. The firm has appointed Thomas Engelmann as a new head of energy transition infrastructure and Carsten Haubner as portfolio manager.
Engelmann has been responsible for establishing and expanding the new energy transition subsection at KGAL since July. The investment expert is focusing on acquisitions and product concepts in the areas of storage, power-to-X with a particular focus on hydrogen-based business cases, and other technologies and assets that are relevant to the energy transformation.
Engelmann joins the company after several years as head of transaction and investment management at Allianz Global Investors. He previously served as senior project manager for renewables and infrastructure at KGAL between 2008 and 2013. Before that, he was in charge of several senior management positions at Siemens Energy and Siemens Financial Services.
