The $18.1 billion Teachers’ Retirement System of Kentucky has committed equity to TA Associates Realty’s 12th real estate fund, Realty Associates Fund XII, according to investment meeting documents.
The three commitments include up to $50 million from the Kentucky TRS pension fund, $10 million from the TRS medical insurance fund and $500,000 from the life insurance account trust.
Realty Associates Fund XII is a value-add real estate fund that will invest in properties throughout the United States. The fund series invests in four property types: office, industrial, multifamily and retail.
As of Sept. 30, 2017, TA Realty managed four value‐added funds totaling more than $4.7 billion in gross assets under management.
Kentucky TRS has an actual allocation to real estate of 5.2 percent.
