Kentucky teachers commits $65m to Blackstone Real Estate Partners X

by Kali Persall

The Teachers' Retirement System (TRS) of Kentucky has placed $65 million in Blackstone Real Estate Partners X, a recent board meeting document confirms.

Blackstone Real Estate Partners X, an opportunistic fund managed by Blackstone, launched in May to invest in diversified property types globally.

A fundraising target could not be determined at the time of publication; however, the fund’s predecessor, Blackstone Real Estate Partners IX (BREP IX), reached a final close in 2019 with $20.5 billion of capital commitments.

As of June 30, 2021, Kentucky TRS had a 5.5 percent allocation to real estate. The portfolio represented $1.4 billion.
