by Lewis Dayton

The Teachers’ Retirement System of Kentucky (TRS of Kentucky) committed $60 million to Carlyle Realty Partners X, confirmed Robert B. Barnes, deputy executive secretary and general counsel at TRS of Kentucky.

Carlyle Realty partners X is managed by The Carlyle Group and is seeking $8 billion of capital to invest in demographic and technology-driven sector assets such as residential, self-storage and industrial, primarily in the United States and Canada. It may invest up to 5 percent of its capital outside of the two countries.

TRS of Kentucky has invested in past offerings of the Carlyle Realty Partners fund series, including an $80 million commitment to Carlyle Realty Partners IX in 2021 and a $60 million commitment to Carlyle Realty Partners VIII in 2014.
