Kendall Sustainable Infrastructure (KSI), a sustainable infrastructure development firm that owns more than 60 projects through limited partnerships, has announced the continued expansion of its distributed-generation portfolio.
KSI has acquired a 2.5-megawatt dc solar project in Perry County, Ill., from development partner New Leaf Energy (NLE). The project will participate in Illinois’ community solar program and will serve a combination of commercial and small subscriber community solar offtakers.
This transaction represents the third collaboration between KSI and NLE. The companies have previously partnered on two solar projects totaling 11 megawatts dc in New York, bringing their combined portfolio to more than 13 megawatts dc of operating and under-construction clean-energy assets.
KSI confirmed it is actively developing new partner relationships, as it sees a future for distributed generation–scale solar and community solar in many markets.
