JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs were top financial advisers by value and volume in U.S. in H1 2020, says GlobalData

Financial advisers JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs were noted to be the top mergers and acquisitions (M&A) financial advisers in the United States in the first half of 2020, based on deal value and volume, respectively. JP Morgan advised on 57 deals worth $95.4 billion, which was the highest dollar value among all advisers. Meanwhile, Goldman Sachs led in volume, having advised on 68 deals worth $73.8 billion during the first half, according to GlobalData, a data and analytics company.

Aurojyoti Bose, financial deals analyst at GlobalData, said, “Goldman Sachs, despite leading by volume, lost the top position by value to JP Morgan. Both of these firms were involved in some big-ticket deals, however, involvement in two megadeals (>$10 billion) mainly helped JP Morgan top the list by value.”
