Jerry Aversano has joined Benefit Street Partners (BSP), a Franklin Templeton alternatives boutique, as director, real estate product specialist and head of business development.
The real estate team has more than 50 investment professionals focused primarily on real estate credit. The group underwrites and originates U.S. commercial real estate loans for an open-end vehicle that is closed to new investors. This year the team is expected to originate nearly $3 billion of loans. Aversano’s role encompasses product development, bringing new funds to market, and leading real estate global business development.
Prior to joining BSP in 2019, Aversano was a vice president at PGIM Real Estate in New York, where he worked in business development and client relations. Aversano served as a strategic adviser on allocations to the real estate asset class for domestic and international investment strategies in private real estate equity, private real estate debt and public REIT
