Iowa’s Municipal Fire and Police seeks deputy CIO to run $2.7b portfolio

Municipal Fire and Police Retirement System of Iowa (MFPRSI) is seeking to hire a deputy CIO to oversee the pension fund’s $2.7 billion investment portfolio.

MFPRSI has an 18.6 percent allocation to core real estate, according to the pension fund’s website.

The deputy CIO will work closely with MFPRSI’s executive director and investment consultant providing portfolio updates and recommendations to the board of trustees, supervising investment officer activities, and leading searches for investment management for all asset classes.

The role will also monitor and manage relationships with external investment managers and manage portfolio performance and risk levels, as well as research and evaluate investment strategies.
