The $42.9 billion Iowa Public Employees’ Retirement System (IPERS) has chosen Wilshire Associates to continue as the plan’s investment consultant, concluding an RFP that was issued in April.
The pension fund received seven proposals, all of which met the minimum qualifications listed in the RFP. An evaluation committee evaluated and scored the proposals based on the criteria stated in the RFP. The committee then agreed to interview the top four firms — which included NEPC, Wilshire, Callan and RVK — based on their scores. Once the interviews were concluded, each committee member provided their rankings of each firm.
Wilshire Associates received the top ranking from four committee members and NEPC received two top rankings. Wilshire, which has served as IPERS’ investment consultant since 1984, was chosen
