Iowa Public Employee to welcome new CEO in May

This week Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds appointed Gregory Samorajski as CEO of the Iowa Public Employee Retirement System (IPERS), effective May 1.

Samorajski will replace current CEO Donna Mueller, who is retiring after 17 years in the role.

“Protecting the retirement security of Iowa’s public employees, past and present, is a vitally important function of state government,” said Gov. Reynolds in a March 31 statement. “I believe Greg Samorajski has exactly the kind of experience and temperament to do the job well.”

He added, “I’m so grateful to Donna Mueller, who has ably led IPERS for 17 years and worked tirelessly on behalf of Iowa’s outstanding public employees.”

Samorajski served as the deputy commissioner of the State of Alaska Department of Revenue, a role in which he managed the staff of the Alaska Retireme
