Investors looking to significantly increase allocation into European living sectors

European real estate investors are looking to increase their investment in the residential sector. Almost half (42.6 percent) of respondents to a survey conducted by Savills Investment Management and international real estate advisor Savills involving real estate investors with total AUM exceeding €1 trillion ($1.06 trillion) predict the proportion of their assets under management allocated to the European living sector will increase significantly by 2025.

The majority (63.2 percent) of respondents currently have less than 25 percent of their AUM allocated to the living sector, but 48.5 percent expect this to increase to up to 50 percent by 2025.

In terms of sectors and markets, the highest priority are:

Housing in the United Kingdom and Ireland Student accommodation in the United Kingdom and continental Europe Pan-European senior living
