Interim CIO leaves Chicago Teachers’ Pension Fund, executive director steps into role

by Kali Persall

Andrew Kelsen, interim CIO of the Chicago Teachers' Pension Fund (CTPF), has resigned from his post, effective Sept. 24.

CTPF will conduct a national search to fill the position.

In the meantime, Carlton Lenoir, executive director of CTPF, will take over as interim CIO, managing the operations of the pension fund’s $13.1 billion investment portfolio until a permanent successor is located.

Lenoir, who previously served as the chief benefits officer at Illinois Teachers' Retirement System, became executive director on Aug. 2.

“We appreciate Andrew’s service to our fund for the past seven years,” said Lenoir. “We thank him on behalf of our 89,000 members and wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
