InfraVia and Vantage Data Centers strike deal for Europe’s largest data center

InfraVia Capital Partners has signed a definitive agreement with Vantage Data Centers to sell Next Generation Data (NGD) in South Wales, the largest data center in Europe.

Stationed on 50 acres, the existing 72-megawatt NGD data center is a Tier III facility that operates on 100 percent renewable energy. Using fiber, the facility offers low latency between Wales and London of less than 1.5 milliseconds. The data center has 108 megawatts of expansion capacity.

“As the needs of our hyperscale, cloud and large enterprise customers continue to grow, Wales represents a highly attractive U.K. market offering both lower cost and greater scalability versus London,” said Sureel Choksi, president and CEO of Vantage Data Centers.

As part of the deal, NGD’s CEO Justin Jenkins will join Vantage as president, Vantage U.K.
