Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and Metrolinx have invited teams to apply for the construction of the Ontario Line public-private partnership (P3) project in Toronto, according to InfraPPP.
The two groups have issued two requests for qualifications (RFQs) for the 15.5-kilometer (9.6-mile) transit project that will run from the Ontario Science Centre through downtown Toronto to Exhibition/Ontario Place.
The work will be carried out through a total of three separate P3s: one rolling stock, systems, operations and maintenance contract for the entire line, and two separate civil, stations and tunnel contracts for the southern and northern segments of the line.
The two RFQs that have been issued pertain to the rolling stock P3 contract and the southern civil station and tunnel contract. The contract for the northern segment is expected to be issued in 2022.
The pre-bidding event for this RFQ will be held on June 16 in the form of a live webcast webinar.
