How is inflation impacting fast food and QSR brands?

The quick-service-restaurant (QSR) seems to be maintaining relatively steady visitation patterns despite inflation effecting consumer spending, according to data by Placer.ai.

There was a fall on overall visits to QSR chains on a three-year basis between April and May. But during the month of May, visits were up year-over-year at nine of the 12 chains analyzed.

While the data does not fully capture delivery orders or drive-thru visits, the foot-traffic numbers can still provide a rough sense of the state of the sector going into the second half of 2022.
