IMRF names Angela Miller-May as CIO

The Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) has appointed Angela Miller-May as its new CIO, effective Aug.16.

Miller-May was selected following a nationwide search, which considered candidates from a variety of industries from both the public and private sectors. She will manage IMRF’s $54 billion investment portfolio and will oversee asset-allocation policy, as well as investment-manager selection and performance monitoring.

She joins IMRF from the Chicago Teachers’ Pension Fund (CTPF), where she serves as the organization’s CIO. Prior to CTPF, Miller-May worked in the financial services industry, including for Northern Trust Company.

Miller-May, a nationally recognized pension industry leader, has received the Women Investment Professionals’ “Distinguished Woman Investment Professional of the Year” trailblazer award and Institutional Investor’s “Change Maker of the Year” award.
