Impact Investment Group launches new sustainability fund for startups

by Kali Persall

Impact Investment Group (IIG) is seeking to raise $70 million from wholesale investors for a new fund targeting sustainable and socially conscious startup investments, according to several news reports.

The Impact Alternatives Fund will include a mix of investments, such as renewable energy infrastructure, impact private equity, venture capital and debt for high-growth startups, reported Startup Daily.

“We see a future where energy is 100 percent renewable, affordable and universally accessible,” said Daniel Madhavan, CEO and co-fund manager at IIG. “Our community of investors has already funded solar farms, green buildings, and the startup years of mission-driven businesses. We’re excited to expand our investment thesis with the launch of this new fund.”
