The $41.3 billion Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund has plans to no longer pursue a previous commitment to an energy fund, according to a board-meeting document.
The commitment was $100 million to Oaktree Transportation and Energy Infrastructure Fund (Parallel). The document states that not pursuing the investment “will reduce the alternatives unfunded commitments for all approved,” but not closed investments for the amount. There was no reason for the decision disclosed in the document.
As of June 30, IMRF has a target allocation to alternative investments of 7 percent with an actual allocation of 3.9 percent.
