Brett Himbury, chief executive of Australia-based IFM Investors, has announced plans to retire from the role he has held for the past 10 years, media sources reported Sept. 19.
The change will be effective December 2020.
IFM Investors plan to start looking for a replacement in the near future.
Himbury is responsible for implementing the firm’s strategy and delivering results for IFM Investors’ clients, shareholders and staff, according to the IFM website. He has held a range of leadership roles across funds management and financial services.
Himbury sits on the board of the European Australian Business Council and is co-chair of the American Australian Business Council.
Under Himbury’s leadership, IFM Investors’ funds under management have grown from A$20 billion ($13 billion) to more than A$120 billion ($81 billion), with an investment reach and client base extending around the globe.
