Iberdrola to increase solar generation in Spain

Spain’s Iberdrola has revealed plans to launch 400 megawatts of new solar photovoltaic projects in Spain.

Two of the projects, to be constructed in the municipality of Cedillo in Cáceres, will comprise a total of 100 megawatts, with room for a 300-megawatt photovoltaic plant to occupy the same area.

The former projects will comprise 300,000 photovoltaic panels and are scheduled to be commissioned in 2020.

Iberdrola said another of its projects in the Extremadura region, the Campo Arañuelo complex (Arañuelo I, II and III of 150 megawatts) will include an energy storage system and is expected to commence construction at the beginning of 2020. Faramax will supply the power transformers and the project.
