Thorsten Michalik has been appointed CEO of alternatives at HSBC Asset Management (HSBC AM), effective April 1.
Since 2020, Michalik has had roles such as CEO for Europe, United Kingdom and Americas at HSBC AM. He began as global head of wholesale and partnerships and was then appointed head of sales Europe, Americas, Middle East and wholesale.
Michalik succeeds Joanna Munro, who is retiring after more than 20 years with HSBC and 40 in the investment industry. She has been CEO for alternatives since 2021.
Based in London, Michalik will report to the CEO of HSBC AM, Nicolas Moreau.
