House of Representatives pushes through $1t infrastructure bill

The U.S. House of Representatives has passed a historic $1 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill with a 228-206 vote, making way for the largest federal investment into infrastructure projects in more than a decade.

The bill designates billions of funds for roads and bridges, public transit, electric vehicles (EVs) and airports throughout the United States.

The bill will also make high-speed internet affordable and available everywhere in America, and will make historic and significant strides that address the climate crisis, President Biden said in a statement issued on Nov. 6.

It will create jobs that will transform the U.S. transportation system, with the most significant investments in passenger and freight rail, roads, bridges, ports, airports, and public transit in generations, and will build out the first-ever national network of electric vehicle-charging stations across the country.
