Hong Kong billionaire Angela Leong has acquired Aldwych House, in London’s Midtown, for around £250 million ($337 million), according to media outlets.
The sellers were Rowan Asset Management and GI Partners.
The 174,000-square-foot building near Covent Garden has been leased to tenants including WeWork Cos. and the ROKA restaurant.
In March 2014, Rowan and GI Partners renovated the asset with a new reception and entrance hall, balconies and atrium, and refurbishment of the fourth floor, bringing 18,000 square feet of office space to the market.
Rowan bought Aldwych Investments Limited, the special-purpose vehicle in which the building was held, in December 2011 with GI Partners and Taurus Investment Holding for £82.7 million ($111.5 million).
Chinese and Hong Kong buyers have invested approximately £4 billion (5.4 billion) in London commercial property in the first half of the year, up from £2.7 billion ($3.6 billion) in the whole of 2016, according to CBRE Group.
