Homestead Capital raises $387m for second fund

Homestead Capital has raised more than $387 million for its Homestead Capital USA Farmland Fund II, according to a filing with the SEC. Homestead Capital’s USA Farmland Fund II has a $400 million equity fundraising target, which was increased from an investment goal of $350 million on Oct. 7.

Recent investors in the fund include the Maine Public Employees Retirement System and the Washington State Investment Board.

In July 2015, Homestead Capital announced the final closing of its inaugural farmland investment fund, Homestead Capital USA Farmland Fund I, with $173 million in equity commitments.
