HIH Invest acquires 25MW wind park in Germany

by Kali Persall

HIH Invest Real Estate has acquired the 25-megawatt Windpark Belle near Steinheim in the northeastern part of the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia.

The seller was German company Energiequelle, which developed the wind farm and handled its construction as general contractor. Energiequelle, which is one of Germany’s biggest service providers for renewable energies, will continue to manage the wind farm. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Windpark Belle consists of five wind turbines made by the company ENERCON, a multidisciplinary engineering and environmental firm. All of the plants were completed and connected to the electricity grid by June 2023.

The acquisition was completed on behalf of the HIH Green Energy Invest fund, a €750 million ($814 million) Article 9 investment fund focused on photovoltaics and wind power plants — both existing and construction ready. Its primary target countries are Germany, France, Italy and Spain. T
