A new independent clean energy player is entering the Italian renewables market. GreenGo, founded in 2018 as a startup for the design and construction of innovative co-managed plants, has announced plans to build around 1.3 gigawatts of new plants during the next five years, for which it will be 100 percent owner.
The plant pipeline will have a solid agri-voltaic segment of around 880 megawatts peak, and there also will be wind and traditional photovoltaics and around 300 megawatts peak of battery storage facilities.
Giuseppe Mastropieri, CEO of GreenGo, said the company is already prepared to start with the construction of 200 megawatts of plants and is expected to produce around 2.8 gigawatt-hours of clean energy in 2029.
GreenGo's development plan includes a €300 million ($326 million) investment during the next three years.
