Gov. Wes Moore signs clean-energy legislation in Maryland

Maryland Gov. Wes Moore recently signed several major environment bills geared toward solidifying the state’s clean-energy future.

Moore signed the POWER Act, the Clean Trucks Act and the Clean Transportation and Energy Act on April 21, moving the state closer to its 2035 clean-energy goals.​ Moore also highlighted the progress at the Tradepoint Atlantic facility in Sparrows Point. Tradepoint Atlantic is a 3,300-acre global logistics center that features an unmatched combination of access to deep-water berths, rail and highways.

Sparrows Point, which was once the largest iron and steel–making facility in America, ceased operations in June 2012. Tradepoint Atlantic is now undergoing a modern industrial revival that has transformed the former steel mill into one of the largest, most strategically significant intermodal global logistics hubs in the country.
