Tech giant Google has signed a 12-year power-purchase agreement with Danish offshore wind developer Orsted, according to Reuters.
The company will take 50 megawatts of power from Orsted's planned 900-megawatt Borkum Riffgrund 3 wind farm in the German North Sea. The farm is scheduled to commence operations in 2025.
The transaction is in line with Google’s plan to power all its data centers and facilities on carbon-free electricity by 2030.
