Google breaks ground on $600m Nebraska data center

Google has broken ground on its $600 million data center in Nebraska, according to media sources.

The technology giant held a groundbreaking ceremony for the development on Friday, which was joined by Nebraska Gov. Pete Rickets and David Black, the mayor of Papillion, the city that will be home to the new data center.

The development will be situated on a 275-acre site on the west side of Papillion, according to a local news station. It will be neighbored by other data centers for Travelers Insurance and Facebook and located less than 13 miles northeast of two of its other facilities in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
