GMH Capital Partners rebrands to GMH Communities

GMH Capital Partners, the real estate investment subsidiary of GMH Associates, has been renamed GMH Communities.

Under the GMH Communities umbrella are three verticals representing each of the company’s focus areas: GMH Student Living, GMH Innovative Living (a new offering) and GMH Residential Living.

In 1985, Gary Holloway Sr. founded GMH Associates as a full-service real estate company whose first inroad to student housing was the conversion of a troubled multifamily property at Penn State University. Through a series of institutional partnerships, GMH grew to become the largest owner of student housing in the nation before the sale of its student housing division to American Campus Communities in 2008.

In addition, GMH leveraged its experience in student housing to become a national player in military privatization. It was these two business lines that led GMH to be known as a niche player in the multifamily space.
