German groups Garbe Industrial Real Estate and NDC Data Centers have formed a joint venture through which they will develop a sustainable “data center factory” in Europe, according to media sources.
The joint venture, known as NDC-Garbe Data Centers Europe, will serve hyperscalers, wholesalers and co-location companies, as well as large corporate owners of data centers, according to Data Economy.
The new development shows great promise and is on track for European expansion, according to the partners.
“With the joint venture, we consistently follow our diversification strategy, thereby creating an effective and financially sound vehicle with distinct data center and real estate competencies,” said Christopher Garbe, CEO and shareholder of Garbe Industrial Real Estate.
The new partners expect good growth opportunities in a market segment that is forecast to use 10 percent of the world's electricity by 2030.
