FPA Core Plus Fund V, managed by San Francisco–based firm FPA Multifamily, has garnered $234 million in commitments, according to an SEC filing.

Launched in September, the core-plus real estate fund is seeking to raise $1 billion in capital, targeting multifamily properties in the United States. According to the filing, five investors have backed the fund to date.

The first four funds in the series closed with $122 million, $125 million, $455 million and $703.25 million, respectively.

FPA and its affiliated property management and general contracting companies operate a portfolio of approximately 35,000 apartment units valued at $5.9 billion.
