Foresight and Island Green Power forge greenfield solar JV in the U.K.

Foresight Group has formed a joint venture with Island Green Power to develop a pipeline of greenfield solar projects across the United Kingdom.

The partnership is planning to develop five projects in England and Wales, with a total generating capacity of close to 700 megawatts. According to Peter Bolton, director at Foresight, the five projects will help increase the proportion of generating capacity from renewable energy sources in the United Kingdom, in line with the  government’s net-zero targets.

This is the second joint venture Foresight has entered into in recent months, following the partnership with Elgin Energy in September. That joint venture is aiming to develop 200 megawatts of solar photovoltaic assets across the United Kingdom.
