Florida SBA appoints long-time director to serve as interim CIO

Lamar Taylor, COO and financial officer at State Board of Administration (SBA) of Florida, has been appointed to serve as interim CIO for the $250 billion fund, following the retirement of executive director and CIO Ashbel Williams in September.

Williams announced his plans to leave the fund on Sept. 21, citing the requirements of the FRS Pension program as his reason for leaving. Williams noted that he had postponed conversations with financial firms to avoid conflicts or any perception of a conflict of interest with his current position.
