First State Investments, a global asset manager offering investment opportunities across a range of specialist investment sectors covering fixed income, infrastructure, equities and multi-asset, has announced several senior appointments to its Americas distribution team to support the firm’s ambitions to grow its footprint in the Americas.
Based in New York, the three new senior directors are Lawrence Paltrowitz, Lynda Petrossian and Hillary Ripley.
Paltrowitz joins from Shenkman Capital Management, where he brings more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. At Shenkman Capital Management, he was responsible for asset raising primarily for the firm’s high-yield strategies, which included all aspects of business development. Lawrence has a broad background across fixed income, having started his career as a fixed income and high yield analyst in 1995.
Petrossian brings more than 20 years of experience in the investment sales and marketing field. Joining from ILS Capital Management, she brings investment experience and a strong track record of raising capital across a range of strategies and vehicles. Prior to that, Petrossian worked for K2 Advisors, a fund of funds and MacKay Shields.
Ripley brings more than 20 years of experience in investment management, with a focus on business development for infrastructure strategies. She joins from Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets, where she served as a relationship manager and infrastructure product specialist. Prior to that, Ripley worked at IFM Investors in business development for IFM’s Global Infrastructure Fund.
“The United States remains an important growth market for First State Investments. To be effective we need an experienced team of practitioners with strong local ties, and with a track record of success in providing investment solutions to U.S. and Canadian investors,” commented Heather Brilliant, managing director of Americas at First State Investments. “As an investment-led organization first and foremost, Lynda, Lawrence and Hillary are adept at working not just with clients, but with investment teams themselves, to develop solutions to meet the ever-changing investment needs of investors. I am pleased to welcome such experienced practitioners to the team, and I look forward to working with them to help fuel our growth ambitions in this market.”
Lynda, Lawrence and Hillary all started at First State Investments in the last three months, joining Bachar Beaini and Randy Paas, and the team reports directly to Heather.
