First State Investments buys 40% stake in Terra-Gen

First State Investments (FSI) has agreed to buy a 40 percent stake in Terra-Gen from renewable private equity investor Energy Capital Partners. Financial terms were not disclosed.

New York City–based Terra-Gen develops, constructs and operates utility-scale wind, solar, energy storage and geothermal electrical generation facilities throughout the United States.

The company’s portfolio spans more than 30 generating facilities located primarily in California, with additional locations in Colorado, Minnesota, Nevada, New York state, Texas and Wyoming. The company currently operates more than 1,600 megawatts of facilities and has more than 3,000 megawatts of projects under advanced development.
