First Sentier Investors names new deputy CEO

First Sentier Investors (FSI) has promoted Yoshiki Ueno to deputy CEO, based in Sydney.

He replaces Yutaka Kawakami, who will return to Tokyo to assume a new role of managing executive officer, deputy chief executive, asset management & investor services business unit, business head, asset management business at The Trust Bank.

Ueno joined FSI in August 2019 as head of U.S. governance. In his role, he managed the U.S. consultation and reporting process with FSI’s U.S. parent companies, MUFG Americas and MUFG Fund Services (USA).

Before FSI, Ueno spent more than 20 years at FSI’s shareholder Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking Corporation in a variety of roles, including corporate finance, strategy planning for asset management and investor services business, and project management office of integration projects.

The deputy CEO is appointed by The Trust Bank with a typical tenure of two to three years.
