First Sentier Investors (FSI) has raised more than €2.2 billion ($2.6 billion) in capital commitments, as well as another €1.2 billion ($1.4 billion) in potential co-investments for its European Diversified Infrastructure Fund III (EDIF III).
A total of 36 global institutional investors participated in the fundraise, with more than 60 percent of the capital coming from existing investors who were involved with funds EDIF I or EDIF II. More than 80 percent of the institutional investors in Fund III were from Europe, with additional commitments coming from Asia, Australia and North America.
Like its predecessors in the fund series, EDIF III will target medium-sized, sustainable, established and economical infrastructure investments in the European energy, transport and utility sectors. The fund has already made its first investment — the acquisition of Multifuel Energy from SSE.
