Fairfax County backs real estate, data center funds

The Educational Employees Retirement System of Fairfax County (Va.) has backed two real estate funds and one data center fund, according to a May board document.

Fairfax committed $31 million to IDR Core Property Index Fund, an open-end core real estate fund managed by Investors Diversified Realty, and $13.5 million to Atlas Capital Partners VI, a value-added real estate fund managed by Atlas Capital Group. In addition, the pension fund committed $13.5 million to IPI Partners II, a data center fund managed by IPI Partners

The Core Property Index Fund is an open-end fund of funds that seeks to provide investors with a return that closely tracks the NCREIF Fund Index – Open-end Diversified Core Equity (NFI-ODCE) by investing in the majority of the index’s underlying open-end funds on a value-weighted basis, according to the meeting document.
