EverWind Fuels, a Canadian developer of green hydrogen and ammonia projects, has received Environmental Assessment Approval from the Nova Scotia Department of Environment and Climate Change for the overhead transmission line that will cross the Strait of Canso.
The transmission line will deliver clean, renewable electricity directly from EverWind’s Phase 2 onshore Wind Farms in the Municipality of the District of Guysborough and the Municipality of the District of St. Mary’s to the company’s Point Tupper facility — powering Canada’s first industrial-scale green hydrogen and ammonia project.
EverWind said this represents a major milestone for the company and paves the way for continued development and investment in Nova Scotia’s clean-energy economy.
“This is a major step forward not only for EverWind’s green-fuels project, but for the future of renewable-energy leadership in Nova Scotia,” said Trent Vichie, founder and CEO of EverWind Fuels.
