Global investment company Eurazeo has acquired an 80 percent equity interest in Ikaros Solar, a Belgian solar photovoltaic company, from its founders and a fund managed by Omnes Capital.
Ikaros Solar develops, builds, owns and operates rooftop and ground mounted solar photovoltaic power plants across Benelux, France, Portugal and the United Kingdom. Eurazeo has committed to invest up to €45 million ($51 million) and will support the company in becoming a European independent power-producer.
“Together with Eurazeo SE, we will boost our development activity to deliver the pipeline in the coming years,” said Yves Devis, CEO of Ikaros Solar. “We are paving the road toward an efficient European energy transition.”
