ESR Australia pens first-of-its-kind renewable partnership with Solar Bay

by Kali Persall

ESR Australia has announced a partnership with Solar Bay, a behind-the-meter renewable-energy owner and operator, that would expand ESR’s sustainability footprint and allow the company to meet both current and future demand from its customers.

ESR Australia seeks to deploy up to A$500 million ($326 million) throughout the next 10 years to deliver up to 50 megawatts of solar panels, 300 megawatts of battery-storage capacity and EV charging infrastructure.

The partnership will facilitate the installation of renewable-energy infrastructure across ESR’s portfolio and grow its solar capabilities across its entire portfolio, with the potential to install up to 125,000 solar panels to achieve the 50-megawatt target.

“Our customers’ energy requirements have grown significantly due to the uptake of electric-powered automation and are set to grow with the further adoption of technology and the take up of electric vehicles,” said Phil Pearce, CEO of ESR Australia
