Within the span of a week, major utilities Iberdrola, Uniper and NextEra all made moves into the hydrogen market, according to a report from Greentech Media. As the energy news outlet flatly states, the moves are “a reminder that the miracle molecule is not the sole domain of the oil and gas sector.”
Major utilities in North American and Europe are increasingly looking to play a bigger role in energy generation, rather than sitting on the sidelines and leaving innovation and power generation to Big Oil and scads of players in the renewables sector.
