Enel plans to mobilize €190m for clean energy push

Enel is planning to mobilize some €190 billion ($225 billion) for investment in sustainable platforms and decarbonization initiatives between 2021 and 2030.

In the coming years, Enel is looking to implement two business models, which include a traditional “ownership” model and a “stewardship” model. The company plans to directly invest €160 billion ($190 billion) in the two models, with €150 billion ($178 billion) through the ownership model and around €10 billion ($12 billion) through the stewardship model, catalyzing an additional €30 billion ($35 billion) from third parties.

Under the ownership business model, nearly half will be devoted to global power generation, with renewables totaling €70 billion ($83 billion), which are expected to lead to around 120 gigawatts of installed capacity by 2030.
